See the entire process of how craftspeople make folding screens from wood and washi paper, and make beautiful kumiko zaiku articles
Tour a factory that makes folding screens, a traditional industry of Kamo City.
You can see the entire process in which craftspeople use their skills to turn natural wood and washi paper into byobu—artistic partitions used in Japan since ancient times.
In the Kumiko Craft Workshop, you will make beautiful coasters or other items using a technique known as kumiko zaiku (a traditional craft technique used to make furnishings and decorative items by assembling fine wooden pieces without nails or glue), with the guidance of craftspeople.
The coasters can be taken home.
