Shirakami Sanchi is a World Natural Heritage Site that straddles Aomori Prefecture and Akita Prefecture. There is a popular walking tour of Lake Juniko, a group of 33 lakes and marshes surrounded by one of the world's largest virgin beech tree forests♪
The tour starts in front of the Kyororo souvenir shop, where the meeting will take place. "Kyororo" is the cry of the rare and most popular ruddy kingfisher, a migratory bird that comes to explore the rich nature of Shirakami Sanchi. You can enjoy forest bathing while walking through the natural forest.
The highlight of the tour is the mysterious Aoike (Blue Pond) that shines cobalt blue. The water is blue and reflects the surrounding trees like a mirror. On a clear day, the water is so clear that you can see the trees lying at the bottom of the pond. An amazing view that will instantly capture your heart awaits you♪
