The coastline of Tanohata Village in Iwate Prefecture is a natural scenic spot lined with sheer cliffs of strange and monstrous rocks. Cruising along this dynamic coastline in a Sappa boat (small rock boat) operated by local fishermen is popular.
Floating in the clear and beautiful sea, the Sappa boat is driven by a veteran fisherman with more than 40 years of experience in his field, directly under the 200-meter-high cliffs! The boat cruises through a large hole in the cape and weaves its way between thin rocks so closely that it almost touches them, making for a thrilling 60-minute ride! You can also enjoy a conversation with the fisherman who demonstrates his excellent steering skills♪
Canoe tour to unexplored and spectacular valleys!
Mifuchi Gorge in Nagai City, Yamagata Prefecture, is a mysterious spot where the legend of the Dragon God remains. You can take a canoe tour of this unexplored area♪
Participants will maneuver their own canoes through a sheer V-shaped canyon. The surface of the water is like a mirror, reflecting the surrounding nature and making it very beautiful♪
