Oirase-cho Icho Park
You can experience New York?! A park with Japan's best Statue of Liberty
Oirase Town Icho Park allows you to enjoy scenery that changes with the seasons, with cherry blossoms in spring as well as gingko tree and Japanese maple foliage in autumn. Its symbol is “Japan’s best Statue of Liberty.”
Because the park’s statue is at the same latitude as New York City in the United States, of 40° 40’ N, it was made with the number 4 in mind, and was built to be one fourth the size of the original statue. It is 20.8 meters tall, which is about 1.7 times the size of the Statue of Liberty in the Odaiba area of Tokyo.
It is illuminated at night, creating a fantastic atmosphere that is different from that during the day.
