Sanriku Sappa Boat and Trail Adventure
This adventure program allows visitors to explore the nature of Sanriku's cliff-lined coast from the sea on a sappa boat (small fishing boat) and from land on the “ Michinoku Coastal Hiking Trail ”!
Sappa Boat Adventures allows visitors to view the rias coast from the sea aboard a “sappa boat,” a small boat operated by fishermen.
This is a powerful and dynamic adventure that takes you on a boat ride between rocks so thin they almost touch the rock face, and takes you very close to cliffs and oddly shaped rocks and monstrous rocks.
After returning to the beach, you will have lunch with fishermen's mothers while experiencing beach cooking. The chatting with the mothers is also enjoyable.
In the afternoon, you will experience part of the Michinoku Shiokaze Trail. The Kitayamazaki course is full of adventure, with hand-dug tunnels and ladders to climb rocks.
