Learning about Kakunodate Samurai / Zazen Experience

Experience the world of Zen, which nurtured the spirit of the samurai of Kakunodate, a castle town in the northern part of Japan.

The priest will explain the relationship between the Kakunodate samurai and Zen, and the role of the temple, which has existed for 400 years in hopes of bringing peace and tranquility to the people of Kakunodate. In the zazen experience, you will be taught in detail how to behave in an authentic manner and how to have a good mindset. The temple is located in the suburbs, away from the hustle and bustle of the city, so zazen in a place where the only sounds are those of nature is also very appealing. After zazen, there is a tea ceremony with the abbot, where you can listen to him talk about his training. A red seal is included as a commemorative gift. An English-speaking guide is available.
