Miyagi/Sendai Okura Dam/Okura River Gorge SUP Experience Tour
SUP (Stand Up Paddleboard) experience tour by Tour Wave!
We will hold a one-day SUP experience tour at Okura Dam in Sendai City, Miyagi Prefecture, to experience the Okura River Valley and fresh green SUP!Anyone can participate in the tour, from one person to friends, family, and couples.
Until early June, the Okura Dam has plenty of water in storage, and visitors can enjoy the submerged forest and the Okura River valley to their heart's content!A SIJ (Japan SUP Instructors Association) certified instructor and a SUPA (Stand Up Paddleboard Association of Japan) certified instructor will accompany you, so experienced and beginners alike are welcome to join the tour.

It takes only about 35 minutes by car from Sendai City to the direction of Mt. Okura Dam is a rare double-arch concrete dam in Japan that plays an important role as a water reservoir for Sendai City.
This is the best season with abundant water storage! Enjoy the submerged forests, waterfalls, and natural formations to your heart's content on SUP as you continue upstream through the Okura River Gorge!
For beginners, instructors will provide thorough and detailed instruction on the basics, such as how to stand on the board and how to hold a paddle, so please feel free to join us.
POINT 2] Rest available at the Okura Furusato Center!
The meeting place will be at the parking lot of the Okura Furusato Center.
This facility was established by Sendai City to provide a place to nurture a rich humanity through "nature experience" and "life experience" utilizing the rich nature and history of life in the Okura area.
There is also an open space and camping area, so please use it in conjunction with the SUP experience! (Separate application required)
Free rest is available in an old house estimated to have been built in the early to mid-19th century.
Shower facilities are also available for a fee in the center's administration building for use after your SUP experience.

We will present you with photo data that captures your memories of your experience.
I'm worried about taking pictures on the board..." "I can't bring my camera because it will get wet..."
No need to worry! Our instructors and staff will take pictures of you!

From downtown Sendai, drive approximately 19 km via Sendai Nishi Road to Route 48, turn right at Kumagane Intersection toward Definition, and drive approximately 4 km. 3 km further along the road, passing the weir of Okura Dam and keeping the surface of the lake on the right.
Access】・・・・By bus *Buses are not available on Sundays.
Take the bus bound for [Definition] from bus stop No. 14 at the Sendai Station West Exit bus rotary, and it takes about 60 minutes.
Get off at Okura Furusato Center.
If you use the bus, you can participate only in the afternoon session. Please use the outbound bus: 11:00 from Sendai Station/arrival at Okura Furusato Center at 12:10, and the return bus: 16:24 from Okura Furusato Center/arrival at Sendai Station at 17:42.
