Original nenju bracelet making workshop and trip to Onogawa Onsen, a relaxing destination not far from Yonezawa
Original nenju bracelet making workshop and trip to the famous Onogawa Onsen hot spring, once discovered by poet Ono no Komachi.
Guests can choose from 25 kinds of natural stones to make their own original nenju prayer bead bracelets that signify their birthday, a Chinese zodiac sign, a wish they hope comes true, or their favorite colors. Upon completion guests will receive their bracelets after a prayer has been offered for them. Afterwards you'll make your way to a hot spring that flows with water 100% supplied by a natural source spring. Unwind and experience deep relaxation at Onogawa Onsen, a well-known hot spring that was once discovered in the Heian period (794—1185) by the beautiful poet Ono no Komachi, and was also loved by daimyo Date Masamune and many generations of lords from the Uesugi samurai clan. Many people look forward to enjoying the water here for both bathing and drinking, as this is one of the few hot springs in Japan where the water is suitable for both purposes.
