Akita Meijo Co.,Ltd., the brewer of “Bisyu Ranman,” was established in 1922 by a group of sake brewers, politicians, and businessmen in Akita Prefecture with the hope of bringing Akita sake, made from high-quality rice and abundant water, to the rest of Japan.

Currently, there are two breweries, the Mitake Brewery and the Ogachi Brewery. The Mitake Brewery is rare in that it is five stories tall and reflects traditional techniques in its machinery and equipment, though it also uses computerized management to streamline the process and improve efficiency. Akita Meijo additionally provides factory tours for customers. 

You can visit the brewery in any season, and there is a free tasting corner for standard and seasonal sake. There is also a store where you can purchase sake.
