Natagiritoge is said to be the toughest mountain pass of Oku-no-Hosomichi journeyed by Matsuo Basho. It is currently a footpath where well-managed beech trees and untouched nature remain. With a guide, you can enjoy seasonal views while reflecting on ancient history. After walking for about an hour, you will reach the top of the pass and be welcomed with fresh coffee served by a local cafe owner.
