Jododaira

Jododaira is located at an elevation of 1,600 meters in the middle of the Bandai-Azuma Skyline. Surrounded by Mt. Issaikyo, Mt. Azuma Kofuji, and Kamanuma marsh, this wetland area offers a wide variety of scenery, including rough mountain surfaces covered with volcanic debris, wetlands scattered with marshes and ponds, and flower fields with alpine plants. It takes about one hour by car from Fukushima City to reach Jododaira. The area has a visitor center, rest area, mountain trails, and nature sightseeing paths, making it easy to enjoy the subalpine natural features! At night, Jododaira is one of the best “star watching” spots in Japan, offering a view of a perfectly starry sky. You can enjoy real astronomical observation at the observatory that has a telescope.
