Motsu-ji Gokusui no En
A modern reproduction of a refined form of amusement during the Heian period
Gokusui no En recreates a Heian period poetry game, and involves poets dressed in Heian period costumes standing in a line in the Jodo Teien Garden of Motsu-ji Temple. It is a refined form of amusement in which participants compose poetry before a cup of sake floating down the waterway passes them.
Visitors can see an elegant scene that looks like a Heian period picture scroll. You probably think it offers great photography opportunities, but please take a breather sometimes to leisurely feel the elegant atmosphere.
