Begun in 2012, the Balloon Festival brings together the best pilots from Japan and abroad to take to the skies. It is an event of the "Hot Air Balloon Honda Grand Prix," one of the most prestigious competitions in Japan. It features competitive flights by top pilots active in international competitions, as well as hot air balloon classes and experiences on moored hot air balloons for the general public. In the evening, a balloon illumination event is held. The scenery is breathtaking as the balloons float in vivid colors to music and ignite all at once.
