Funaoka Castle Site Park

Park where you can enjoy flowers throughout the year

This park was built on the site of the castle of Harada Kai, a vassal of the Date family. Although no buildings remain, a well used in those days remains as a historical site. Today, the park is a year-round flower garden, with cherry blossoms in spring, hydrangea in early summer, manjushage in fall, and open gardens handmade by the townspeople. The view from the Momi no Ki ha Remaining Observation Deck, located at the top of the park and near a fir tree associated with Shugoro Yamamoto's novel "Momi no Ki ha Remaining," is also recommended.
