Michinoku Hydrangea Garden
The Michinoku Hydrangea Garden began when Mr. Ito, the owner of the garden, planted hydrangeas in a cedar grove. Today, 40,000 hydrangeas of about 400 varieties bloom on both sides of a walking path surrounded by a cedar forest more than three times the size of the Tokyo Dome.
The Yamamoto Collection, collected from all over Japan by the late Takeomi Yamamoto, former president of the Japan Hydrangea Association, is a treasure trove of precious mountain hydrangeas.
It is the “No.1 hydrangea garden in Japan” certified by the Japan Hydrangea Association.
