Tenpyou Romankan Museum [Wakuya, Miyagi]
Learn about gold in Japan's first gold mining region
This facility consists of a history museum, a gold mining workshop, and a gift shop. During the spring and fall seasons, visitors can try their hand at gold mining. No need to worry if it is your first time as a staff will guide you through the process. You can also take home the gold dust you collected.
The history museum displays the history of gold production, tools for gold mining, and gold from around the world. Learn the history of gold in Japan's first gold-producing region.
We also recommend visiting Koganeyama Sakin Ruins located adjacent to Tenpyou Romankan Museum.
