Stories of ghosts that bring on mysterious phenomena and gods with extraordinary powers have been handed down through the generations as grandmothers recite the tales to their grandchildren. The Tono area of Iwate Prefecture carries on these traditions with its many captivating local legends. We've developed a system that allow many people to come for the chance experience to this history, with multilingual subtitles of the old story-telling delivered by women native to the community, in their dialect. You can sense the mysteries of how people in Tono viewed the world, represented by “the Legends of Tono,"" while appreciating the original Tohoku landscapes.
