Kaisho no Yakata Kyu Kamei-tei (Former Kamei residence)
Japanese and Western-style housing difficult to reproduce with modern technology
The Kaisho no Yakata Kyu Kamei-tei (former Kamei residence) is a historical building built in 1924 by the first president of Kamei Corporation in Shiogama. It uses Japanese and Western-style housing architectural style, which incorporates a Western sensibilities into a traditional Japanese building, and is a building of such extremely high historical value that is difficult to reproduce with modern technology.
Guided tours are being offered of the Shiogama-jinja Shrine and the surrounding area for visitors. It is located on the left-hand side of the hill behind the Shiogama-jinja Shrine, so stop by on your way to visit "Shiogama-sama."
During the Hinamatsuri (Girls' Day), you can also see hinamatsuri decorations adorn the inside of the building.
