Goshikinuma’s (Five Colored Lakes) sightseeing paths, bustling with tourists in the green season, are mostly empty of people during the snow-covered months of January through March. Mokumoku Nature School’s original course, designed to take advantage of the snow season, will guide you to winter-only sights such as Kuronuma (black pond) and a spot where the colors of Aonuma (blue pond) look the most beautiful, accessible only over the snow. Snowshoes will help you walk without sinking too far into the deep snow. This is a tour that can be enjoyed without too much difficulty by both first-time snowshoe trekkers and seniors. For foreign language speakers, communication will be facilitated by a translation device. Please come prepared in water-resistant clothes (such as ski wear), gloves, and snow boots.
