Yunokawa Onsen

These quiet hot springs have long been located along the streams of the Yunokawa River in the inner part of the Shimokita Peninsula. It is a simple mountain hot spring area with several traditional inns and one hot spring facility that is open for day visits. It was also the filming location for A Fugitive from the Past, which was based on a novel by Tsutomu Mizukami. 
Jojoen is the hot spring facility open for day visits. It has indoor baths infused with the fragrance of Aomori’s cypress trees as well as an outdoor bath overlooking the river, allowing you to relax your body and soul as you comfortably soak in the water. 
It is a peaceful, hidden gem of an onsen area you’ll want to visit if you go to the sacred Mt. Osore and Hotoke-ga-ura with its line of strangely shaped rocks.
