Zao Heartland is a spacious farm of approximately 100 hectares. You will be soothed by the sight of cows and sheep eating grass on the green meadow. Over 100 cows as well as rabbits, sheep and goats are raised here. You are able to interact with the animals. There is also a rope-led horse that walks in the plateau meadow.
You can experience making cheese and butter using cow's milk, sausages, and ice cream in the experience hall. Why don't you take part in a valuable experience in which you make something that you eat on an everyday basis with your own hands? (You will need to make a reservation one week in advance.)
The farm is home to a barbecue house where you can taste hearty yaki-niku grilled meat in the nature of the plateau, a direct sales shop adjacent to a Zao cheese factory where you can try nine types of cream cheese, and a shop selling handmade original bread and special cakes. Savor the fresh and milky flavors distinctive of a farm (e.g., soft serve ice cream and yogurts) here!
