The Bandai-Azuma Skyline is a 29-km sightseeing driving route meandering through the Azuma mountain range between Takayu Onsen and Tsuchiyu Toge Pass and is literally known as "the road that runs across the sky." It has been selected as one of the top 100 roads in Japan and offers a wide variety of seasonal scenery from the snow corridor in spring to the fresh greenery in early summer and the foliage in autumn. The road is normally closed in winter from mid-November to early-April due to snowfall; however, from following the annual re-opening of the road in early-April until the end of the Golden Week holidays, a wall of snow on both sides of the road is created, so you may enjoy driving through a corridor of snow.
