Lake Taihei is an artificial lake about 30 kilometers long and 58 meters deep created with the completion of the Moriyoshi Dam. In autumn, the leaves in the area surrounding the lake change color, creating a superb sight. The lake is also popular among anglers for its abundance of cherry salmon, char, carp, pond smelt, and more. The pleasure boat is operated from the opening of the lake on June 1 and takes visitors to Komata Valley until the autumn foliage season in October.
