Shiogama is a port town that boasts one of the largest fresh tuna landings in Japan. Shiogama, where a rich variety of fish is landed from season to season, has long had a large number of sushi restaurants, each of which competes for the best taste with its own unique flavor and technique. Eleven sushi restaurants will be participating in this event, offering seasonal dishes and other menu items to let everyone know about the delicious sushi of Shiogama, which is made with rice from Miyagi, a rice-producing region, and plenty of fresh seafood from the Sanriku coast.
