There are eight quaint yokochoes in the central city of Hachinohe, ranging from quaint alleys that have existed since the 1945s to newer eating and drinking districts that extend to the upper floors of buildings. These side streets are all within walking distance of each other, and visitors can enjoy a back-alley sake tasting experience that is like stepping back in time to the Showa period, in search of local cuisine using seasonal ingredients and a variety of locally brewed sake.
