The brewery's name, "Asabiraki," is associated with waka (Japanese poem) from Manyoshu, the oldest poetry book in Japan, and is a poem blessing the departure of a ship early in the morning. "Asabiraki" is said to have been named to symbolize the transition of Japan from a samurai-based society to the merchant society of the Meiji era. “Asabiraki brewery,” established in 1988, is a fermentation storehouse that uses pure Japanese-style architecture with the black tiles on the white wall, which has received the "City Landscape Prize." You can see both the "handmade processes" and "modern processes" in the latest facilities.
